The four biggest men's events: the Masters, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open and The Open.
The majors draw the strongest fields of the year and count most in how careers are judged. ESPN marks them on each tournament, and list_tournaments filters on it.
Strong fields are why field-strength adjustment matters: beating a major field by two strokes a round is a better week than beating an opposite-field event by the same margin.
The common mistake
Major fields include amateurs and club professionals, who pull the field average down; a round's strokes versus the field at a major is compared with that whole field.
