BirdieAPI vs the Data Golf API

Data Golf's API sells model predictions, strokes gained and odds. BirdieAPI serves leaderboards and hole-by-hole scores over REST and MCP, paid per call.

The Data Golf API comes with a Scratch Plus membership ($30 a month, or $270 a year, which is the plan that includes the historical archive) and serves Data Golf's own model predictions, live odds from many sportsbooks, and historical round data with strokes gained across 22 tours. BirdieAPI serves PGA Tour leaderboards and every player's hole-by-hole strokes since 2001, the LPGA, LIV and the DP World Tour, and its own strokes-versus-field rating, over REST and an MCP server, starting with 500 free credits.

If you need strokes gained by category, predictions or odds, Data Golf has them and BirdieAPI does not. If you want hole-level scores, course setups and a pay-as-you-go API an AI assistant can call directly, that is what BirdieAPI is for.

Questions

Is BirdieAPI's rating the same as Data Golf's?

No. BirdieAPI's rating is strokes per round better than the field, adjusted for field strength and weighted toward recent rounds, computed here from scores. Data Golf's model uses more inputs, including strokes gained.

Does BirdieAPI have odds?

No. ESPN, its source, publishes no golf prices.
